NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs podcast with Marko:
#1 The Vegas Golden Knights (4-3) advanced by beating the Minnesota Wild (3-4) convincingly on Friday night 6-2. The Knights opened up the flood gates with three goals in the second period to run away with the game 7 win.
#2 Marko, talk about the Knights Mattias Janmark who scored two goals in the third period for a hat trick that added insurance goals for Vegas’ victory.
#3 On Saturday night with the their backs to the wall 3-2 the Montreal Canadiens pulled off a close shave with a victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Belle Centre in Montreal to stay alive and tie the series at 3-3 in over time.
#4 It all boils down to game 7 on Monday night at the Maple Leaf Garden as the Canadiens and Maple Leafs face off to decide who goes to the next round as the Leafs have the advantage of having home ice.
#5 The Boston Bruins wasted no time with a 5-2 win over the New York Islanders at TD Garden in Boston to open the best of seven series. The Bruins one of the most potent offensive teams in the NHL proved that with this three goal win on Saturday night.

#1 Florida Panthers @ Tampa Bay Lightning; Lightning lead series 3-1. The Lightning didn’t waste anytime in the first and second periods scoring three goals in the first period and two in the second period to get a 6-2 win and take a 3-1 series lead.
#2 Pittsburgh Penguins @ New York Islanders; Penguins and Isles series tied 2-2. the Islanders scored two goals in both the second and third periods and shut down Sid Crosby and the Penguins offense from getting any chance to to get back into this game winning 4-1.
#3 Montreal Canadiens @ Toronto Maple Leafs; Habs lead series 1-0

#1 The Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche who faced off at Roger Centre in Edmonton for the seventh and final game of the second round tied at 4-4 battled for their lives and forced OT as the Stars win it 5-4 to advance to round three.
#2 The Stars Alexander Radulov scored his sixth goal of the playoffs to open the scoring at 2:39 in the first period. The Avalanche made it interesting with scoring from Vladislav Namesnikov and Andre Burakovsky as the Aves take a 2-1 lead into the second period.
#3 Second period the Stars Joel Kiviranta tied the game up at 3:06 in the second period making it 2-2, the Aves showed no signs of giving in up when Nazem Kadri scored at 5:45 for a 3-2 Colorado lead.
#4 The Dallas Stars Alexander Radulov scored his seventh goal of the post season at 11:28 in the third period as the Stars once again tied it up 3-3. Namestnikov scored his second goal of the game to get the Aves the lead again 4-3 it would be the last time the Aves would hold the lead. The Stars Joel Kiviranta tied up the game at 16:30 in the third period for Kiviranta’s second goal of the game making it 4-4.
#5 In overtime Kiviranta scored his third goal for a hat trick and the win and the clinch at 7:24 as the Stars go onto advance to the Western Conference Finals against the Vegas Golden Knights.

#1 A lot of professional athletes are pretty fed up and rightfully so regarding racial injustice and the NHL was no different taking a stand and walking out of the rinks in Toronto and Edmonton to protest the recent shooting of Jacob Blake.
#2 The NHL released a statement saying “After much discussion, NHL players believe that the best course of action would be to take a step back and not play tonight’s (Thursday) and tomorrow’s (Friday) games as scheduled.”
#3 NHL action does resume today and let’s take a look at the three games scheduled the puck drops at 9 AM for the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Boston Bruins at Scotiabank in Toronto. The Lightning lead the series 2-1.
#4 The Philadelphia Flyers and New York Islanders are tied at 1-1 with a 4:00 pm puck drop tonight in game 3 at Scotiabank.
#5 The Vegas Golden Knights who have struggled against the Vancouver Canucks face off at 6:45pm at Rogers Centre in Edmonton for game 3 with the series tied at 1-1.

#1 After the Montreal Canadiens defeat over the Philadelphia Flyers people around the NHL have to ask themselves are these guys for real?
#2 The Habs have tied the series and got a solid win shutting out the Flyers 5-0 behind the defensive handy work of the Canadiens goaltender Corey Price who stopped 30 shots. I know you said it before there was a lot of doubts about the Canadiens just coming into the qualifiers and they took out the Pittsburgh Penguins to get here.
#3 Matt talk about Canadiens coach Claude Juilen who went through a stent procedure for a coronary artery as Juilen will not return for this series against the Flyers.
#4 The Colorado Avalanche just got by with a one goal win against the Arizona Coyotes 3-2 to take a 2-0 series lead the Aves Andre Burakovsky scored at 2:53 remaining in the game to get the game winner for the Aves.
#5 The Aves also got scoring help from Nathan MacKinnon and Tyson Jost and got goaltending help from Phillip Grubauer who stopped 30 shots.
