#1 San Francisco Giants announcer Jon Miller said after picking up his son and fiance after their trip to Europe they told him to be careful not to handle the luggage and not to hug them because they might have been exposed to Coronavirus and later as it would turn out they did. Miller and his wife Nadine did take a test for Covid 19 and the tests proved negative.

#2 With the NBA season canceled Golden State Warrior Stephen Curry and Dr. Anthony Fauci both held a on line Q and A streaming answering questions pertaining to the current pandemic crisis. Dr. Fauci talked medically about how the public should continue to shelter in place and Curry telling fans that they’ll be back when this is all over.

#3 This week was supposed to be opening week for the Oakland A’s hosting the Minnesota Twins at the Coliseum and the San Francisco Giants opening up in Los Angeles. As this season continues to be suspended and everyone is held up in their usual four walls it’s a matter of what could have been for baseball’s opening week.

#4 Sad news all time great Curly Neal of the Harlem Globetrotters has passed away at age 77. Neal did some of the fanciest moves on the basketball floor the Globetrotters and he was with the Globetrotters from 1963-1985. Also the passing of former Houston Astro and Los Angeles Dodger Jimmy “The Toy Cannon” Wynn at 78 years old, who had hit .250, 1665 hits, 291 home runs, and 964 RBIs career.

#2 How risky is it for anyone to be out after hearing about NBA players Rudy Cobert, Donavon Mitchell, Kevin Durant, an NHL player from the Ottawa Senators who was not identified and a minor league baseball player.

#3 They didn’t win the National Championship but Kansas finished on top of the AP polling going 29-3. The Jayhawkls received 63 out of 65 first place votes.

#4 The Jacksonville Jaguars traded quarterback Nick Foles to the Chicago Bears, the Carolina Panthers released former 49er safety Eric Reid, Reid was with Carolina for 13 months on a three year, $22 million contract.

#5 San Francisco Giant Hunter Pence advised everybody to have “love, kindness, and humanity aren’t taking a break treat everyone with love” Pence also added “can’t wait to get back to baseball”

Empty Camden Yards in Baltimore was the site of the first MLB game played without fans in April 2015 when the Chicago White Sox played the Baltimore Orioles. This time MLB has suspended play for the next two weeks due to Coronavirus.

#1 London there will be no games going forward as the NCAA cancelled all it’s games for March Madness.

#2 MLB, MLS, NBA, and the NHL all have suspended all games in an unprecedented situation unheard of. The NBA has said they will allow players to work out.

#3 Two Utah Jazz players Rudy Cobert and Donavon Mitchell who contracted Coronavirus was the starting point to end the NBA season. Cobert today apologized for touching everything and possibly passing the virus to his teammate.

#4 Economically this has effected thousands employed in professional and college sports who work the games including much of our own staff

#5 London you covered the MLS and the San Jose Earthquakes this is a weekly game for the most part this has to be disheartening and scary for people who work at the MLS and have to make house payments and now there is no work there.

The Giants stated because of these remarks he will not be invited to their 10th anniversary celebration of the 2010 World’s Championship.

#2 It’s been a long strange trip but the Cal Bears finally won a road game their first for this season at Washington State the Bears hope to get another road win on Saturday at Washington

#3 The San Jose Earthquakes open up their regular season against Toronto on Sat Feb 29th. The Quakes struggled all last season and are hoping for an improved season coming up.

#4 Daytona 500 race car driver Ryan Newman recovered rather quickly considering his car flipped over on the course in a heap of flames. Newman went into the hospital in serious condition but with non life threatening injuries. He was out of the hospital on Thursday.

#5 Washington signed running back Adrian Peterson for 2020 it will be Peterson’s 14th year in the NFL.

#4 The Los Angeles Clipper Paul George was fined $35,000 for saying the officials were dishing out home cooking calls that favored the home team the Philadelphia 76ers. Any negative talk against the NBA results in heavy fines to any team personnel.

#5 The Houston Astros had to face the music as Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman both had to meet the press on Thursday at spring training in West Palm Beach Florida. They had plenty of time to think about what they had to say regarding the sign stealing crises.

#5 How important is it that Dusty Baker hired by the Houston Astros who are trying to get away from the sign stealing scandal and Dusty is a player’s manager, doesn’t use technology or computers to manage a game or need to steal signs.

Now they prepare to play a Green Bay Packers (5-1) team, who are coming off a 23-22 narrow edge victory against the Detroit Lions last Monday Night Football. Can the Raiders pull off their third straight win at the Frozen Tundra this Sunday?

#2 The Packers got a late field goal in the fourth quarter — a 23-yarder with just over a minute left in the game from kicker Mason Crosby after quarterback Aaron Rogers took two knees before electing to kick a field goal for the one point win.

#3 San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has no doubts and lots of confidence going into these games, on Sunday against the LA Rams Garoppolo threw 24-33 for 243 yards and their fifth straight win 20-7.

#4 The Sacramento Kings picked up their first preseason win against the Utah Jazz Monday night with a 128-115 victory. The Kings’ Buddy Hield was all over the place with 23 points and he was the key to the offense in the Kings win.

#5 In the baseball playoffs, the Houston Astros took a 2-1 ALCS lead over the New York Yankees on Tuesday at Yankee Stadium. The Astros’ Garrett Cole threw for seven innings, four hits, five walks, and seven strikeouts.

#1 Former Oakland Raider Antonio Brown is countersuing his former Florida trainer Britney Taylor for civil extortion for accusing him of rape. Brown, who is now with the New England Patriots, categorically denies the allegations. The Patriots released a statement acknowledging the allegations and said the NFL is doing an investigation. Brown’s trainer said the rape occurred in 2017.

#2 David Ortiz threw out the first ball on Monday night at Fenway Park. It was Ortiz’ first appearance since being shot in the back in Santo Domingo. He told the crowd at Fenway, “Thanks for your prayers.”

#3 Talk about how big the 49ers defense played a role in San Francisco’s win over the Tampa Bay Bucs on Sunday forcing four turnovers with two pick-sixes.

#4 The San Jose Earthquakes (13-5-10) will play two in less than four days on Wednesday night against Real Salt Lake (13-4-11) then on Saturday against first place NYCFC in New York City (15-8-5). Some big opponents, some big games for the Quakes.

#5 The Quakes’ Chris Wondolowski has been the soccer gift that keep on giving. In the Quakes’ last game in San Jose last Saturday, Wondolowski scored his 20th goal and his 157th career to lead the league. How huge has been for the club in leading them this season?
