#1 How crucial of a decision was it for the NHL to decide to play all of it’s post season games including the Stanley Cup Finals in both Canadian cities of Edmonton and Toronto?

#2 Edmonton and Toronto has done such a great job with flattening the curve while the US leads the world in Coronavirus it made the choice easy for the NHL.

#3 Vancouver was a city that was in the running for being a hub city but the political concerns amongst Vancouver’s political leaders thought the better of it as Vancouver has kept the Corona flat lined and wanted to keep it that way.

#4 Len talk about the best of five series and round robin games in the two Canadian hubs

#5 To add extra excitement for this NHL post season the Edmonton Oilers Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl will be a couple of hometown favorites in the playoffs. Both were at Friday’s morning skate to add to the excitement of the return of hockey.

#1 With the recent discovery of three Tampa Bay Lightning players testing positive for Covid-19 and Austin Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs also found positive the NHL looks as if they will still move forward anyway to get training camp going and eventually start the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.

#2 The Lightning are under scrutiny as they will be going through testing as the team facility will remain shut under orders from the team medical staff and NHL. The phase 2 rules of reopening guidelines calls for facilities closed and players tested after a player(s) have been found positive.

#3 Julien BriseBois, General Manager of the Lightning asked the Tampa Bay community to lower the curve as the state of Florida has been averaging around 3,000 cases a day of Covid by hand washing, face masking, and social distancing.

#4 With just this sampling of positive cases in the NHL will the NHL have to re-evaluate whether or not it’s such a wise idea to proceed with trying to start the Stanley Cup Playoffs or not?

#5 The name Sockeyes is leading in the polls amongst fans by 140,000 votes over the second place name Totems for Seattle’s newest NHL team name, however team CEO Tod Leiweke has said this is not the right time to unveil the new name because of the protests regarding racial injustice and Covid-19 shutdowns in Seattle. Leiweke said there is plenty of time to announce the new team name saying the organization is not tone deaf to these important issues.

# 1 The New York Rangers Artemi Panarin was mentioned for a candidate for the Hart Trophy. Rangers head coach David Quinn said that Panarin was well deserving. Panarin scored 95 points (32 goals and 63 assists).

#2 The Calgary Flames general manager Brad Treliving said he’s considering signing defensemen Travis Hamonic and TJ Brodie but is holding off until the pandemic shutdown is over.

#3 How crucial is it that the Seattle NHL leadership get the expansion team on track and have things ready in time for the 2021-22 season. Edmonton Oilers head coach David Tippet said it will be an exciting addition to the league and as a new expansion team they’ve got a lot to live up to after what the Vegas Golden Knights did for expansion.

#4 Len after the long layover if the NHL is successful in bringing neutral site games to North Dakota and Saskatchewan can the San Jose Sharks recover from the long lay off and may Eric Karlsson and Logan Couture can shake off the cob webs and have had time to heal from their injuries?

#5 The Shark goalie Aaron Dell had some solid goaltending before the season was suspended with 3.17 goals against a .907 save percentage he could be a factor if the season was to return.
