#1 Jessica, the Washington Nationals Juan Soto sweepstakes are on there are five possibilities, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, New York Mets, St Louis Cardinals, and San Diego Padres, where he can go after turning down a 15 year $440 million offer by the Nationals.

#2 Unfortunately injury for one of the big draft picks for the Arizona Diamondbacks #2 draft pick Druw Jones who hurt himself with shoulder injury swinging the bats during batting practice before Tuesday’s game before playing the San Francisco Giants.

#3 Jessica, It was an emotional return for Toronto Blue Jays Buck Martinez who had returned to the broadcast booth from cancer treatment. Martinez had been out since the middle of April and got a rousing ovation from the Blue Jays crowd, players and his grandkids in attendance. Martinez by the way looked great you would have never known what he had gone through.

#4 It was in the making since 2008 the Jackie Robinson Museum in New York Jackie’s wife Rachel 100, watched the ribbon cutting along with daughter Sharon 72 now in a wheelchair and son David 70, for the opening of the museum. In 80 degree heat outdoors in New York City Robinson’s children spoke about the life and career of Robinson.

#5 San Francisco Giants pitcher Carlos Rodon apologized to Thairo Estrada who he kicked a bat leaning up against the bench into Estrada’s knee after giving up a three run home run to the Arizona Diamondbacks Christian Walker in the top of the third inning. Rodon apologized to Estrada, his teammates, and had a meeting with manager Gabe Kapler who said that things had been worked out with Rodon.

#1 Toronto Blue Jays have fired Charlie Montaya Wednesday and named John Schneider as their interim manager for the rest of the year. The Jays promoted their Triple A manager Casey Candaele will be the Jays interim bench coach. Jays general manager Ross Atkins said he was disappointed on the Jays recent performance despite the team being in playoff position for a wild card spot.

#2 The Kansas City Royals have ten unvaccinated players who not allowed into Canada to face the Toronto Blue Jays who have refused to take the Covid 19 vaccination. Canada does not permit anyone from the US to enter without being vaccinated. Royals Operation Manager Dayton Moore said at the end of the day it’s players choice even though it impacts the team.

#3 Jessica the New York Yankees pitcher Luis Severino will undergo an MRI today because of right shoulder tightness. Serverino gave up three straight home runs to Cincinnati Reds hitters Kyle Farmer, Mike Moustakus, and Stuart Fairchild on Wednesday which raised red flags and the Yankees would like to find out more about his conditions.

#4 Washington Commanders owner Dan Synder will not be testifying at a House Oversight Committee hearing regarding Washington’s workplace culture which included sexual harassment. The NFL had fined the Commanders $10 million. Synder attorney Karen Patton said Synder won’t testify under subpoena and will do so voluntarily.

#5 Former Las Vegas wide receiver Henry Ruggs who was charged for the firey DUI crash on Nov 2, 2021 in Las Vegas that killed Las Vegas resident Tina Tintor 23 and her dog. Lawyers for Ruggs wanted his blood and alcohol evidence thrown out but the Clark County judge who is presiding over the case had permitted the test as evidence in the case.

#1 Jessica, Colorado Avalanche fans and members of the media expressed their displeasure with longtime Avalanche reporter Mike Chambers from the Denver Post who shared his photos with Avalanche team captain Gabriel Landeskog. Chambers in the photos was seen hoisting the Stanley Cup and also seen holding the cup with Landeskog.

#2 One of the things that is the number one rule is objectivity in our job as journalists and Chambers knows this as much as anybody else as a main beat writer for the Avalanche. Do you see this a matter of getting caught up in the moment?

#3 Tennis star Serena Williams a seven time Wimbledon Champion lost for the first time in the Grand Slam in a year. Williams lost to a 115th ranked ranked player Harmony Tan, 7-5, 1-6, 7-6, it appeared that Williams still had her strength, her passion, during the match. It was at the start of the match that she had a number of missed shots, made unforced errors, and hit some balls that went wide and long. Is Serena just losing a little off her game?

#4 Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper is out of action as he will need surgery to stabilize a broken thumb he sustained on Saturday after he got hit with a 97 MPH by the San Diego Padres Blake Snell in the bottom of the fourth inning. The pitch was high and tight on the hands and it got his thumb. Harper exchanged words with Snell but later in a post game interview said the pitch was not intentional.

#5 Jessica, former assistant football coach at Bremerton High School in Washington State Joseph Kennedy has taken a knee in prayer. There had been a comparison to his taking a knee to former San Francisco 49er quarterback’s Colin Kaepernick’s taking a knee who protested during the national anthem because continuous law enforcement brutality against minorities and people of color. Kennedy sued the school district for wrongful termination and won taking the case all the way to the US Supreme Court because of religious discrimination.

#1 Jessica, we’ll start tonight talking about the Minnesota Twins infielder Miguel Sano who will need knee surgery the Twins have said that they have no idea when he will be returning. Sano is going into surgery to repair a torn left meniscus. Sano has been on the team 10 day IL since Monday night.

#2 The Los Angeles Angels Shohei Ohtani has had to go through all sorts of pains and injuries including have Tommy John surgery two years ago. Ohtani hit a ninth inning double on Sunday and he slowed down his running and left the game but is expected to be back on the mound to pitch against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park Thursday night in the last game of that three game series.

#3 Another player has join the Coivd 19 IL the Cincinnati Reds Joey Votto who has been put on the list as a precautionary measure and is day to day according to Reds manager David Bell. Votto who was a six time all star was hitting just .122.

#4 The Chicago Cubs left handed pitcher Drew Smyly who is on bereavement was replaced by Robert Gsellman who was called up from the Cubs minor league Triple A Iowa club. Gsellman was 0-1 ERA 3.77 with the Mets last season.

#5 The Los Angeles Dodgers will be offering backdrop events in two venues for the 2022 All Star Game one location at LA Live in downtown and the other at Santa Monica Pier which are 18 miles apart from each other. “No city and no city’s fans have supported their team like the Dodgers’ fans have,” said Dodgers team president Stan Kasten.

#1 Former Atlanta Brave Freddie Freeman didn’t waste anytime taking his former teammates deep. Freeman now with the Los Angeles Dodgers hit a first inning second pitch was a line drive that went straight over the left centerfield Dodger Stadium fence. The Dodgers wound up winning Monday night’s thriller 7-4. Freeman said this was not poetic justice or anything like that but he was happy reuniting with his former teammates.

#2 Former pitcher Jake Arrieta who spent his best years of his 12 year career with the Chicago Cubs has announced his retirement. Arrieta started his career with the Baltimore Orioles from 2010-13 and then went to the Cubs where he won 68 games between 2014-2019 before signing on with the Philadelphia Phillies for three years. Arrieta said “it’s time to step away from the game.”

#3 The Los Angeles Angels will miss his bat in the line up but are relieved that outfielder Mike Trout had a negative test on his MRI after Trout was hit on his left hand by a pitch Sunday. Angels trainer Mike Frostad said Trout’s return is based on his pain tolerance.

#4 The Astros Jose Altuve in the same game on Monday night against the Angels experience hamstring issues in the eighth inning after running after hitting a single. Altuve while sitting on the ground was frustrated by the injury but said after the game he was feeling better. Manager Dusty Baker said the team is waiting for answers and Altuve will be seeing a doctor.

#5 The state of Florida has removed mask mandates under cutting federal mandates. The Florida mandate removal might be a big mistake as in Philadelphia they are going back to mask mandates after having a huge Covid outbreak as the Oakland A’s who played a three game series in Philadelphia earlier this month had seven players out with Covid protocols on Monday night’s home opener in Oakland.

#1 Fans polled blame the lock out on the owners by 45% and 34% say they didn’t know and 21% blame the players.

#2 Amongst one of the hottest buttons in the talks is the Collective Balance Tax the union didn’t budge from it’s $238 million to a $263 million tax growth. The league proposed a slow climb on the CBT starting at $220 million to $230 million. Four owners have voted no on the players proposal and it’s been the sticking point in these negotiations.

#3 On Sunday MLB negotiations the players did permit a 14 second clock for the pitchers to throw with the bases empty. A 19 second clock with runners on base, larger bases, both sides are close on the draft lottery and no shift.

#4 Los Angeles Lakers Russell Westbrook’s wife Nina has just about had enough of fans calling Russell out of his name at games and she said she has stopped bringing the children to the game to hear the awful things the fans call Russell as she said on Twitter.

#5 San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Poppovich tied former Golden State Warriors head coach Don Nelson for the most regular season wins in NBA history 1335 and needs one more Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night to break the all time wins record. Some of the players he coached have called him one of the best coaches of all time.

#1 Jessica the excitement is building as the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing is just eight days away beginning Feb 4th through 22nd. All nations attending are looking forward to the games.

#2 Tough break for Olympic downhill skier Breezy Johnson who tore her right cartilage on a downhill slope during on a training run. Breezy will miss this Winter Olympic. Breezy skied the last two seasons with teammate Mikaela Shiffrin.

#3 Jessica some baseball writers are saying that not allowing former MLB players Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens in the Hall of Fame is dangerous because that will also keep out other steroid era players but isn’t that the whole idea keeping out dishonest players?

#4 Jessica the Kansas City Chiefs are on the fringes of advancing to the next round to play in Super Bowl LVI. The Chiefs have won four of their last five games but one trick the loss in those five games came against their next opponent the Cincinnati Bengals back on Jan 2 in Cincinnati 34-31. Quite a climb for both teams to get here with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow both who are having a bang up season.

#5 The San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams will slug it out for the NFC Championship at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles this Sunday. The 49ers have defeated the Rams six consecutive times over a three season period. The Rams have home field and will be fired up and try to knock off the 49ers. The 49ers are looking to keep it going with the Super Bowl on the line.

#1 “Credit to them. Credit it to them” Famous last words from Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott after learning fans were not throwing trash and garbage at his teammates but rather to officials on Sunday after the loss to the 49ers blaming officials for not spotting the ball in time as time ran out and the Cowboys were eliminated from the post season. Prescott had since apologized on Tuesday for what he said.

#2 The Seattle Seahawks front office kept busy this week as they fired their defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr and defensive passing game coordinator Andre Curtis in what was the worst season for the Seahawks in more than ten years under head coach Pete Carroll. The Hawks have asked permission to speak with the Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Ed Donatell.

#3 According to head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers Mike Tomlin all options are on the table as his starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is presumed not to be returning for the 2022 season after 18 seasons as starting quarterback Roethlisberger will most likely be hanging it up and Tomlin will be searching for a new quarterback for next season.

#4 Golden State Warriors minority owner Chamath Palihapitiya (polly who said 15 minutes into an interview on Saturday that “Nobody cares about what’s happening to the Uyghurs, OK?” Palihapitiya continued saying “I’m telling you a very hard, ugly truth, OK, of all the things that I care about, yes it is below my line.” The Uyghurs Muslims are being are reportedly being persecuted and suffering from genocide in China according to the US Government. The Warriors embarrassed by the comments are reportedly keeping themselves away from Palihapitya and his remarks and sources say Palihapitya share of the team could be bought out depending on how much the team has to do damage control over the remarks.

#5 Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving re-enforced his no Covid 19 vaccine stance telling the media on Tuesday that his life outside of basketball is his choice not be vaccinated. Irving is not eligible to play in Brooklyn his home building the Barclay Center where the vaccine shot is mandated to be able to play.

#1 Jessica, the Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is having shoulder surgery and the Browns won’t wait it will be as soon as possible. Mayfield will not play this Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. The surgery will for a torn labrum in his non throwing left shoulder.

#2 Jessica, the Tennessee Titans linebacker Bud Dupree has been charged with misdemeanor assault after some individuals came back into a Walgreens store in Nashville after having an argument with a 20 year old male employee last Sun Jan 2. It was reported that Dupree grabbed the employee’s phone who was filming the incident. A male and female employee ended up getting cuts. The male employee on the forehead and the female employee on the hands. The Titans said they are aware of the situation. Dupree and the Titans had just won earlier that day defeating the Miami Dolphins 34-3.

#3 Jessica, the railing collapsed right after the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Football Team concluded their game last Sunday in Washington in an Eagles 20-16 win. As Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was exiting the railing collapsed and six fans fell six feet. Hurts ended up helping one of the fans and was afraid someone could have seriously got hurt. Hurts wrote to NFL vice president Brian McCarthy and the Washington Football Team about the incident and McCarthy assured Hurts that the league will look into with Washington and promised nothing like this will happen again.

#4 There is certainty that the Golden State Warriors Klay Thompson will join the Warriors after two and a half years of recovering from a torn left ACL and right Achilles tear missing two seasons. Thompson is expected back in the line up against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday Jan 9th at Chase Center in San Francisco.

#5 Big effort by the Atlanta Hawks Trae Young who scored 56 points but the Hawks ended up losing to the visiting Portland Trailblazers 136-131. Young had a hot hand going 17-26 and 7-12 on three pointers. What more does Young has to do to prove that’s a core player on the Hawks.

#1 Jessica tonight we start with the NHL calling for this week’s leaguewide shutdown which was announced on Monday due to the positive coronavirus outbreak that has ten NHL teams facilities already shut before the shutdown was announced.

#2 The Holiday break was announced two days earlier and the NHL isn’t schedule to be back until Monday. Five games scheduled for Thursday has been postponed a total 50 games postponed this season.

#4 The NHLPA and the NHL have come to an agreement that no players will be participating in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics Feb 5-22. The NHL with it’s massive Coronvirus outbreak and travel between Canada and the US has been banned the NHL decided to not send players to Beijing. The NHL will use those dates to make up games that are currently postponed.

#3 Jessica, in women’s college basketball the U Conn Huskies 16 year steak of being in the top 10 is over. The Huskies lost to Louisville and dropped four places in the AP poll on Monday dropping to 11th. The last time the Huskies were in 11th place was back on Mar 7, 2005.

#4 Monday was also another brutal day for the NFL as 47 players were put on the Covid 19 list a record for one day since the pandemic began in 2020. Some of the 47 keynote players in the Covid 19 quarantine are Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa and Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff.

#5 New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones will be out for the rest of the season with a sprained neck injury. According the Giants head coach Joe Judge doctor recommended that Jones sit out the remaining three games this season after scans showed the extent of Jones’ neck injuries.
