#1 Gustav Nyquist scored a hat trick and Nick Foligno scored two goals as the Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-2

#2 Vegas Golden Knights edged out the visiting Arizona Coyotes 2-1 as Alex Tuch scored a regulation goal and later scored a shootout goal for the win.

#3 The Washington Capitals’ Dmitry Orlov scored the game winning at 3:03 in the overtime stanza that defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3 on Saturday night

#4 David Krejci got a game winner for the Boston Bruins scoring an overtime goal at 1:40 and David Pastrnak scored his 24 goal of the season the league leading goal scorer in the NHL as the B’s beat the New York Rangers 3-2 Saturday night.

#5 The San Jose Sharks have won 9 of their last 11 and have been a house on fire on Saturday they defeated the Los Angeles Kings behind a key goal from rookie Noah Gregor his first goal with San Jose and defensive goaltending by Martin Jones who stopped 33 shots.

#1 There’s one way to fire up the Montreal Canadiens. That’s to watch the Washington Capitals’ Alex Ovechkin try and take out the Habs’ Jonathan Drouin, who ended up seeing stars after an Ovechkin hit. The Canadiens regrouped, came out and scored four goals in the second period in their 5-2 win over the Caps.

#2 Brad Marchand scored twice in the third period as the visiting Boston Bruins beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2. The Bruins’ Charlie Coyle and Zdeno Chara also scored goals for Boston.

#3 New Jersey’s MacKenzie Blackwood was all the difference in goal as the Devils goaltender stopped 38 shots in New Jersey’s win over the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1. The Pens played without their offensive star Sidney Crosby.

#4 The Ottawa Senators’ Filip Chlapik got a second period goal and goalie Anders Nilsson stopped 26 shots for the Sens in their 2-1 trimming of the Philadelphia Flyers. The Senators were able to kill off four-minute power play late in the game.

#5 The Columbus Blue Jackets’ Zach Werenski got an overtime goal at 3:34 as the Blue Jackets picked up a win over the St. Louis Blues 3-2. Vladislav Gavrikov scored his first NHL goal for the Jackets.

#1 With the San Jose Sharks Joe Pavelski skating on Wednesday and wearing full head gear with mouth protector, how soon is he expected to come back?

#2 The Sharks’ Erik Karlsson has skated much better. He has four shots against Colorado in 25:24, which is much better than he shot against Vegas in the first round.

#3 Carolina Hurricanes goals from Teuvo Teravainen and Greg McKegg got the New York Islanders goalie pulled. The Canes goalie Curtis McElhinney stoppd 26 shots — that’s his second best of his postseason career. Carolina picked up a 5-2 win to sweep the New York Islanders in four games.

#4 The Dallas Stars’ Jason Spezza picked up a crucial goal and Stars goalie Ben Bishop stopped 38 shots in the Stars’ 2-1 win over the Blues to take a 3-2 series lead.

#5 Columbus and Boston are tied in their series 2-2 and a crucial Game 5 is tonight in Boston. Matt tells us his expectations in this one.

#1 Joe takes a look at San Jose Sharks Joe Pavelski, who will not play in Game 1 on Friday night, after getting cross-checked and knocked out in Game 7, against the Colorado Avalanche. Pavelski had his teeth knocked out in game one to start the series. How soon do the Sharks expect Pavelski to return?

#2 The Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues opened up their series on Thursday night. The Blues took the first game 3-2 on home ice with goals from Robby Frabbri, and two goals from Vladimir Tarasenko — one in the second period and one in the third.

#3 The Boston Bruins got a 3-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets in Game 1 of the second round. The Bruins’ Noel Acciari, and talk about Charlie Coyle, a goal that help tie the game at 2-2 in the third period and Coyle got the game-winner in overtime.

#4 The Carolina Hurricanes and New York Islanders face off tonight for game one in the second round. The Hurricanes are coming off a 4-3 series win over the Washington Capitals, which is not an easy task knocking out the champs. The Islanders got a 4-0 sweep over the Pittsburgh Penguins in round one.
