#1 The New York Islanders (8-4) are heading to the third round after the playoffs after their second round defeat over the Boston Bruins (6-5) on Wednesday night crushing the Bruins 6-2.
#2 The Isles scored three goals in the second period and two in the third and the Bruins who were noted as one of the more prolific NHL offensive teams just couldn’t answer back at the Nassau Coliseum.
#3 The Bruins got only two goals one in the first period and one in the third period both from Brad Marchand but Marchand couldn’t provide anymore and got no help as the Islanders provided defense to keep the Bruins out of the net.
#4 Mary Lisa you look up and down the Bruins line up with Marchand, David Pastrnak, Patrice Bergeron, Craig Smith, Nick Ritchie, just to name a few with shooters like this how shocked do they have to be about getting beat in the elimination game by four goals?
#5 Islanders now face off against the very tough Tampa Bay Lightning who are coming off a 4-1 series win over the Carolina Panthers how do you see this Eastern Conference match up coming up in the third round.
