MESA AZ–There is no better sight than to walk into the ball park after the winter off and to see the players stretch and prepare for their next exhibition game at Hohokam Park the spring home of the Oakland A’s. A’s manager Bob Melvin will be my pre game guest for today’s column later on, it’s a wonderful, wonderful time at spring training in March. I’ve been to a couple of games the Angels and A’s and the sold out Cubs and Angels which was played a couple days ago that game was played at Diablo Stadium in Tempe it was a sold out crowd.

Wednesday I’m going to see the Angels and Giants at Scottsdale and every place you go for spring training and I’ve been coming here for over 30 years. Every place you go now you can expect a sell out crowd. It’s pretty amazing what Major League Baseball has been able to do here in the Phoenix area when you have half of the teams training here it’s just a wonderful experience.
