That’s Amaury’s Podcast, News, and Commentary: Davis staying on the caution of health declines invitation to World Baseball Classic

In this Sept. 15, 2016, file photo, Oakland Athletics’ Khris Davis hits a two-run double off Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Edinson Volquez during the fourth inning of a baseball game at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. Davis has asked an arbitration panel for a $5 million salary this season, and the Oakland Athletics argued the outfielder should be paid $4.65 million. The sides appeared Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, before arbitrators Mark Irvings, Gil Vernon, Mark Burstein, who are expected to issue their decision Wednesday. (AP Photo/Orlin Wagner, File)

The Oakland A’s Khris Davis who this past week took a pass on playing in the World Baseball Classic and who hit 40 home runs for the A’s last season and this is exactly what I was talking about in our last podcast. A lot of Major League players wouldn’t find it inconvenient playing in the WBC they all feel very proud that their representing their country. When you get paid a lot of money and you know you have to produce and I understand what Davis is saying.

Davis told me mid season he was trying to qualify for the Mexican team because his mother was born in Mexico. I feel bad he’s going to miss out, America’s team is going to have the Giants Buster Posey and Brandon Crawford Crawford and Posey will participate. For Davis he won’t be able to join the Mexican team and one of the reasons is he went to arbitration he won a lot of money in arbitration and he wants to loyal to the A’s.
